Life doesn’t end after a long day’s work. I think that is something we need to remember daily. There is more to life than working, grinding, finishing school requirements, and doing household chores. Sure, that takes up a huge chunk of our days, but when we do this for days on end, we may just find ourselves on the other end of a blazing match stick, slowly burning out and giving in to sleep just to get a reprieve from life’s reality. It doesn’t have to be that way, though.

When we choose to nurture the sense of fulfillment in the littlest of things, we keep our cup full and plenty- we’re able to show up for others and ourselves, we’re able to pursue our passions fearlessly without the fear of failure holding us back, and we’re able to stay present and in the moment.

We have to live our lives beautifully because we only get one chance to live it. Finding fulfillment doesn’t have to mean achieving big things in life- sometimes, it’s breathing fresh air, soaking in the sun, or hugging your favorite person on earth, and that, I think, is the easiest art to master.

It struck me as a ridiculous sight- who would’ve thought a bear would be so peckish as to walk inside a convenience store in the middle of the night? Then I realized what was wrong with the picture: there shouldn’t be bears walking into convenience stores, in fact, there shouldn’t be bears roaming around urban areas at all!

The consequences of human activities on the environment are becoming increasingly evident, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the strange sightings of brown bears in 7-Eleven stores, roaming around people’s backyards, and even rummaging through the dumpster for food!

Due to the busy nature of our lives, it seems hard to make time for reading. But one of the great things about reading is that it’s actually easy to fit into our schedules! Unlike when watching a series or a movie where you constantly have to follow along, reading allows us to go at our own pace. How fast (or slow) we get through a book is entirely up to us. If we have time to read for at least an hour a day, great! But if we can only spare a few minutes, that’s also fine. What’s important is that we take our time to enjoy reading.

Reading can seem daunting, especially when we’re looking at something the size of an encyclopedia. Thinking big is often a good thing, but in this case, the key is to actually think small. We can start with a short, nice book that we can easily finish in a few sittings. That will give us a sense of accomplishment and will encourage us to keep going.

We also don’t need to pressure ourselves by imposing deadlines. Well, of course, if it’s work or school related, we might want to speed it up a little. But if we’re talking about reading strictly as a hobby, again we have to think small. We can even do just one page a day! Now that sounds very doable, doesn’t it? A page may seem too little, but when things get too hectic, reading a page is better than not reading at all.

Committing to reading at least one page each day helps us establish a positive habit. By incorporating reading into our daily routine, we create a sense of discipline and consistency. Over time, this practice can have a ripple effect, motivating us to read more and fostering a lifelong love for books and learning.
